2016 Cellar Club Tempranillo
Winemaker Notes
Tempranillo is always the first red grape we process during harvest. Typically, mid-September before most of the whites are in.
Tasting Notes
Tempranillo is native to northern Spain and widely cultivated as far south as La Mancha. The two major regions that grow Tempranillo are Rioja, in north-central Spain, and Ribera del
Duero, which lies a little farther to the south. Our Tempranillo is grown right here in Paso Robles on the Patricia Diane Vineyard by Eberle Winery partners and owners Dick and
Claudia Woodland. This wine has many dimensions which are why it is a favorite of our wine club members. Aromas and flavors of fig, red currant, tobacco, lavender, wet slate, and red
licorice. Lush and fruity with fine tannins and a dry finish.
Food Pairings
Eberle's Tempranillo with its acid and tannins that you can chew calls for a dish that has some fat, acid, and spice to it. A wine perfectly paired with grilled polenta with a fresh tomato
sauce, Chile Rellenos, or Jambalaya of cranberry sauce.
