2019 Sangiovese
Winemaker Notes
Aged for 15 months in barrel; 15% French, 5% Hungarian & 5% American Oak. During harvest, the Sangiovese completed a 3-day cold soak and short fermentation to avoid color loss.
Tasting Notes
Sangiovese completes a balancing act between being a fruit-forward and rustic wine. The bright Bing cherry and cranberry flavors round off the savory herbaceous and subtle tomato flavors in harmony. This medium-bodied Italian varietal has lingering acid with an essence of fresh-picked strawberry.
Food Pairings
A wide range of foods pairs well with Sangiovese due to its medium-body and bright acid. Any tomato-based dish will complement this wine. Venison sausage, roasted meat, and cured sausages can partner well with this wine. We also recommend trying it with Eggplant Primavera.
