1999 Steinbeck Syrah
A cool, dry spring and summer lengthened the growing season by three to four weeks in 1999, but the long, hot Indian summer boosted ripeness levels producing superior quality fruit. A banner year! One of Gary Eberle's best vintages.
The term "French Impressionism" comes to mind when drinking this wine. As you dream of Monet's Day Lilies your palette will be layered with lovely essence of earth, mineral, and saddle then elegantly painted over with a rich profusion of ripe cherries all over a strong structural support.
